HAPPI ProjectHealthier Active People - Promoting Independence

HAPPI stands for Healthier Active People & Promoting Independence. Its purpose is to help and support people across the Borough of Great Yarmouth with getting involved in various activities. Whether you chose to become a client or volunteer.

Examples of support provided could be -

Providing information on events or activities taking place in the local area

Helping people access an activity or group (Someone to accompany you the first few times)

HAPPI Activity sessions run in residential/sheltered housing, Charity organisations & events

Skill sharing sessions for people with carers or recipients

Build your confidence by getting involved in a safe social settings, having fun and meeting new people with the support of the HAPPI Project. Trained volunteers will support you through your journey to improve your health & wellbeing, but most of all to have FUN!

Examples of volunteering opportunities -

Computer console, supporting others to learn & play (Wii, PS, Xbox)

Bingo Sessions

Seated Line Dance

Be matched (One to one)

Sow a Seed (Growing herbs/flowers)

Fundraising events

Become a trained volunteer to support others in getting involved, we provide everything necessary including out of pocket expenses & you could volunteer for as little as 2 or 3 hours a week. Boost your CV & workability as well as gaining new skills & meeting new people. Support group session are held by the Co-ordinator for you & other volunteers to keep updated about the project & give your feedback.
