Digital Champions
ONLINE BASICS
This course will help get to grips with the basics you need to get going online. It covers:
- How to use a keyboard and mouse
- How to search and explore the internet
- How to keep in touch with email
- How to stay safe online
- Full tutor support available throughout.

We have a unique volunteering opportunity for those people who already have computer experience. Could you be a Digital Champion?
Do you have:
- Basic computer skills (being able to connect to the Internet and use a web browser)
- Confidence with the Internet, including knowing where to go to find information
- Basic organisational skills to co-ordinate trainees
- Exceptional communications and people skills
Have you got:
- An ability to get to know people and understand their interests and motivations
- Patience with people who are learning something for the first time
- An interest in working with other Digital Champions across the UK to help people to get online
- An enthusiasm about the huge difference the Internet can make to someone's life

Aim of project To build a sustainable delivery network that inspires people to get online through the use of partnerships, scheduled UK Online events and Digital Champion volunteers
We act as community hubs, working with local partners from all sectors, whoever, and whatever they might be!
We're building a network of digital champion volunteers to help pass IT on, to get entire communities using computers and the internet to improve local lives, areas, and services.
Wanted:
- Engagement Partners: To engage with new potential clients at scheduled UK Online events
- Referral Partners: To help identify non-online clients and refer them to Delivery Partners
- Delivery Partners: To deliver basic computer courses to clients and help them develop internet and e-mail skills.
