A Magical Week at Snape Maltings
Snape Maltings is one of the world's leading centres of music and hosts events, exhibitions and concerts all year, from Aldeburgh Festival in June to the folk, world and jazz of the Snape Proms in August. The Magic Adventure was privileged to be invited to perform at Snape this summer, hosting their innovative theatre experience for young children.
Magic Adventure is an exemplary work of interactive musical and visual theatre for very young audiences. It is led by five funny, playful singers with decades of combined experience in creativity and the early years. Children and adults are guided through an unforgettable multi-sensory experience of exploration and discovery, with voice-play and music making.
The Magic Team were in Snape for a week, holding five performances over two days for children aged 0-3 and their families. The shows were fully sold out on both dates and the response from families that attended has been positively overwhelming. The team would like to send a huge thank you to Maria Dobing and her wonderful colleagues who made us all feel so very welcome and to all the fabulous children and families that joined us on our Magical Adventure.
A big thank you also to special guests that joined us, including guests from the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, Michael Corley and Emily Chase from the Festival Bridge in Norwich, Jessica Pitt, chair of MERYC-UK (Music Educators and Researchers of Young Children) and Andrew Forrest from Great Yarmouth Community Trust.
