Great Yarmouth Community Trust, a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, was established in 2001 to be the successor body for the trailblazing area Sure Start Partnership in Great Yarmouth. From its home at the Priory Centre the Trust now delivers services to the whole community and runs five social enterprises.
Our current portfolio of activities includes:
* Two Children's Centres - 'Priory' in north Yarmouth and 'Greenacre' for south Yarmouth and Southtown and Cobholm;
* Priory Day Nursery;
* Priory Creche
* The Community Nutrition Service for Great Yarmouth & Waveney;
* Adult learning;
* Work with people over 50 (Youthful Over 50s);
* Priory Research Services;
* Priory Marketing;
* Priory Cafe, including the buffet service;
* The Priory Centre, as a community, learning and conference centre.
Our Charitable Objectives
To promote general charitable purposes for the benefit of the public within Great Yarmouth, in particular, but not exclusively, by:
- The relief of sickness, poverty or distress, in particular by the provision of regeneration projects in areas of social and economic deprivation.
- The advancement of education and learning, including training in skills relevant to gaining employment for those without work.
- To provide facilities for public recreation or other leisure time occupation in the interest of social welfare, with the object of improving their conditions of life.
- To preserve, repair and maintain for the benefit of the general public buildings of historical, architectural or constructional interest within Great Yarmouth.
