Welcome to the Priory Centre

The Priory Centre is the home of the Great Yarmouth Community Trust, a development trust that operates across the Borough of Great Yarmouth. At its core is a diverse range of integrated services, that together help the Trust to meet its objectives:-

* Assisting social and economic regeneration;
* The advancement of education and learning;
* The provision of facilities for recreation in the interest

of social welfare;

* The preservation, repair and maintenance of buildings

   of historical, architectural or constructional interest.

We deliver services through a range of funding streams: social enterprise work, public service contracts and grant funding. Our aim is to offer the people of Great Yarmouth a true 'Community Anchor', to be an organisation that delivers services to every sector of the community.

Basing the Trust at the Priory has given us a unique resource from which to deliver and develop services. We welcome in excess of 250 visitors every day, using either our cafe, room hire, drop in groups, adult learning, nursery or children's services.

The importance of this building to the Trust and to the heritage of the town is reflected in the 10-year Improvement Strategy and Conservation Plan that is currently being produced. The Grade 1 listed building is one of only 2,500 secular Grade 1 listed buildings remaining in England and our vision is to ensure its conservation and development, making it an attractive and welcoming venue for visitors.

A copy of the Great Yarmouth Community Trust's Annual Report 2007/8 is available from our Reception. Please call: 01493 743000.
